Um. As you said in a previous post, Televisa is a Mexican company. Why would they use Rio? o_O

I do love it that they'll still shoot in Morocco. It's such a nice way to keep the feel of authenticity.  As for knowing the story, one could say the same about any "novela" - the basic story is always the same. It's those small details -  ranging from the scripted lines and acting to wardrobe and make up - that make it awful, watchable or outstanding, and I believe this is what these guys are aiming for with this.

Speaking of which, any more news anyone?

News has been pretty slow lately so nothing new. But I think that pretty soon we should be getting a flood of news since the new version of Clone is suppose to come out in early 2010.

I suppose I can post these videos about El Clon. I suspect that most of you have already seen, but just incase here they are.

Tee hee, it’s awesome that the creator, Gloria Perez is on board and backing up this project. It was a nice interview. If anything, I wish she had spoken as well.

That little bit from Al Rojo Vivo offered some interesting peeks – they seem to have invested quite a deal in this. *nod*

Thanks for the links, dearie!

I was also dissapointed that Gloria Perez didn't talk during the interview. I wanted to hear what she had to say about the project. I was also curious to hear her speak in Spanish.

I appreciated the fact that she was there and that she is fully aware of what they are doing to her "baby."

We are almost there guys, its already November! And the closer we get the more news we will receive!

There is speculation that O Clone '10 will premiere in the early weeks of February 2010.

In other news, Caminho das Indias will also premiere around the same time on Telefutura. For those of you who don't know, Caminho das Indias is Gloria Perez's (O Clone's creator) latest production. It has a lot of the characters from O Clone.

It will be dubbed into Spanish.

I have some news.

The other day I saw a teaser that Telemundo put on. It started off with three camels walking in the desert and then it transitions into a view of Jade standing at what seems like the ruins. The wind is blowing in her hair and she looks amazing. The shot was pretty far away though. After that, it transitions into the logo "El Clon" and then into "coming in 2010". I don't know about you guys, but this sort of thing gets me really excited.

Also, there is some speculation that TV Azteca (the second largest broadcasting company in Mexico) is producing their own remake of O Clone. The title is "Amores del Mediterraneo" I hope that this is pure speculation because I think one remake should do.

Here is the link:

Here is a youtube video where one of the Telemundo Executives talks about the remake. Nothing new really, but its something lol.

Two remakes? What the...    OK, I won't pass any judgement until I see the actual thing. *nods* (And how many times have I said that? Bring it on, already!  ) Having said that, the teaser you mentioned sounds promising! Do you have any idea whether it can be found anywhere online?

On a slightly different note, I wish Caminho das Indias was distributed in its original language.  *sigh*

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the Teaser anywhere. But like I said before, news should start flourshing in pretty soon.

I like your attitude, Azhal. Many people will not watch the remake because it will not live up to the Original. Ok, we understand that, but how can you judge something that you haven't even seen? Again, Gloria Perez and Jayme Monjardim are behind this project 100%, hopefully they'll be careful with the material. Haha, ok...I'll get off of my soap box now.

And yes, I too wish we could get all of these Globo Novelas with subtitles instead of dubbed. Although, I must admit that the dubbing for O Clone was amazing!

Caminho das Indias has me really interested though. I'm not sure if I'll be watching this on Telefutura. It will be either this or the remake of O Clone. Right now I'm leaning towards the remake, lol .

Oh, I hope so! I'm really curious about this remake!   And I believe that it wouldn't be fair to judge something before having some decent knowledge on the subject.

I agree that the dubbing is good - they're clearly professionals, and giving their best. I think I've already mentioned that I first watched the dubbed version of O Clone, before managing to see the original.

And why couldn't you watch both?  Will they be aired at the same time or something?

The reason why I couldn't watch both is simply do to time management. I hate being a "slave" to TV shows. I'm currently in college and should utilize that time more efficiently, lol. I'll use TV as an incentive to get the work done faster instead of using it as a procrascination tool <--- that statement is easier SAID than DONE, lol!

Azhal, I haven't been able to find the first promo online but I have better news!

Telemundo has released ANOTHER promo and it looks VERY promising!

Below is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf2sgZjoZ10

My thoughts: The scenery looks great. The acting is decent. Jade doesn't appear to have too much makeup (this detail is good in the beginning of the soap opera) and the music fits. This promo has me really excited. I can't wait to see more.

It appears that El Clon will replace Mas Sabe el Diablo which is scheduled to end in February.

Thoughts?

OK. My first thoughts upon watching that trailer were, "Damn, the only thing I can't seem to get used to is Spanish instead of Portuguese" (I've totally associated O Clone with Portuguese ), followed by "SQUEEE! Saul Lizaso! YAY!" I like that actor!

The promo does look good enough overall, and I completely agree with your assessment on the scenery. Those images were veeery nice! Thanks for the link!

Speaking of watching multiple TV shows, yes, it can be time consuming. But the good thing about (most) soaps is that you can easily afford to miss a few eppies and still know exactly what's going on. I guess you could start out by watching a few, then narrow down your list, according to your preferences. (Let's face it, there are hardly exceptional shows such as O Clone out there, at least imo ).

I have a lot of goodies for you guys! I hope you enjoy them and please let me know what you think.

This is a HD video of the NEW cast of O Clone:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gqfbv1bW6iU

Notice that MANY of the actors have changed--I know that sometime ago I posted a "post" about the prospective actors and MANY of them are not the same.

This is a small promo where we can see Jade dancing and Lucas spying on her--oh what memorable scene!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3zPsr-4ZpQ

This next one we see Jade at the beach, then she complains to her mother about being different, and then we see her first day in Marruecos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4uGMqocNgs

Another tesaser where we see Jade and Latiffa talking, and then she is talking to Lucas.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0t9oZgCaCc

Now, if you want to see all of those videos in better quality go ahead and go to the official website (it has now been activated). There you will find many pictures as well as additional videos of the "making of." In one of the videos they interview the actors and they respond in English. Quite interesting, actually.

And last but not least (not a video) El Clon 2010 is set to start on..............

Terrible!!! I am not sure why Telemundo insists in remaking the best soap operas when they choose the worse actors and always modifies the scripts. In addition there will never be anything as good and as authentic as the Original.

But it makes me mad they will do such a pathetic version of this awesome story.
Finally, in my opinion there will never be a better Jade than Giovanna Antonelli.
I just had to get it off my chest as I watch the first episode of this terrible remake with cheasy music!!! ohhh this is so frustrating!!
