The main actress of this serial is Giovanna Antonelli (Jade). During the shooting, she was trying to present herself as young muslim girl and later as 20 years older woman. Jade suffers, dreams and enjoy in love that happened on first sight. The role of Jade was very demanding because she was spending 6 hours a day learning a belly dance. After 2 mounths she was able to dance just as proffesional belly dancer.

Giovanna Antonelli was born on March 18th, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her parents are also artists. Her father Hilton Prada was also an actor, he played in several films of 70th. Her Mother Sueli Antonelli is proffesional ballet dancer. Giovanna started to express her talent as a little child. When she was 11 years old she made a first step in acting world and with 14 she shows up on television Rede Manchete. The first big role was in telenovela “Tropicaliente” ('94). She got the role with her 17 after a great success on Rede Globo`s casting. There she was playing a role of Benvide. After that she appears in many other telenovelas and several films. After the soap opera „The Clone“ her fame rapidly started to grow up. In many people`s opinion she is one of the most beautiful and talented brazilian actress!

The main actor in “The Clone” is Murilo Benicio. He is acting a 3 different persons in this serial, Lucas, Diogo and Leo (the clone). Starting of the shooting was very exhausting because he`s been acting twins - Lucas and Diogo. Although the most hard for him was when the clone Leandro showed up. He had to play a role of Lucas with 40 years old and a role of 18 years old Leo at the same time.

During the shooting he was constantly changing up his clothes, hair style and voice so the characters may have a different and similar line.

“I think that Gloria Perez, author of the novela, made a great contrast, a story about clonning and eternal love between two peope”.

Jandira plays generous and good person who helps Jade and Lucas to make their dreams come true. Although she is very nice she often breaks rools of islamic tradition. Meeting with Leo is very disturbing for her, she thinks that he is a shadow of Lucas, even some kind of mean spirit who intends to return Jade into the past. At the final Zoraide married Ali with whom she spent more than a half of her life as a housekeeper and servant.

“Zoraide came in Mr. Ali`s family. She had wandered throuh a desert with beduins before she met Mr. Ali and his wives that accepted her as a child and relative. Audience is alway on Zoraide`s side because she is very apprehensive to everybody”.

Stenicio acting Jade and Latife`s uncle. After her mother dies Jade comes in uncle Ali`s home. Ali is very religios man who is against all thing that are not according to holy book – Quran. In his oppinion clonning is contratiety to God that is only able to make a human being. When he sees Lao at first time he becomes to believe that the day of doom is coming. With the appearance of the clone he thinks that past time has started to repeat.
